Manufacturer: Aurochem Laboratories, India
Pharmaceutical name: Vardenafil

Auvitra is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor. It helps to relax muscles and enhances blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal, aiding men in achieving and maintaining an erection. Auvitra is prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction (impotence).

Do not take Auvitra if you are also using nitrate medications for chest pain or heart issues (like nitroglycerin). If you experience dizziness, nausea, or any pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw during sexual activity, cease and contact your doctor immediately. This could indicate a serious side effect of Auvitra. Seek medical help right away if you have an erection that is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours, as prolonged erections (priapism) can cause damage to the penis.

To ensure that Auvitra is safe for you, inform your doctor of any other medical conditions you have, including heart disease, heart rhythm disorders, high or low blood pressure, seizures, liver disease, kidney disease (or if you're on dialysis), blood cell disorders like sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia, bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, stomach ulcers, hearing or vision issues, history of vision loss, eye disorders like retinitis pigmentosa (a hereditary eye condition), any physical deformities of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease), or if you've been advised against sexual intercourse for health reasons.

Auvitra may reduce blood flow to the optic nerve, which can lead to sudden vision loss. This has been reported in a small number of patients taking Vardenafil, most of whom also had underlying health issues like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, certain pre-existing eye conditions, and individuals over 50 years of age or who smoke. The exact relationship between Auvitra and vision loss is unclear. If you experience sudden vision loss, discontinue Auvitra and seek emergency medical assistance.

Auvitra is not intended for use by women, and it is uncertain whether Vardenafil can be transferred into breast milk or could harm a breastfeeding infant. Do not use this medication without consulting your doctor if you are nursing.
